Delivery service was excellent. The printer was east to set up_ However, because my computer does bot have a CD slot, I had to download drivers (and guess which was the right one), and the guide book from the internet. The output of the printer is excellent. The machine functions very well and very fast, once warmed up. I am still trying to find the correct settings for automatic printing b2b - at present I need to press buttons 3 times to get a job done. The whole operation should be easier - the control panel and guidebook are no help.
Seems to be a reasonable printer, quality and speed are both ample for our requirements and the basic installation/setup process was quick and easy. The optional extra paper tray works well and requires minimal setup - the printer simply sits on top of it. Printzone provided next day delivery, even to rural NSW.
Now the bad part. This printer requires the user to log in, via the keypad, to make changes to many of the printers settings (network configuration etc.). Whilst this may be a useful function for large companies who need to prevent unauthorised users from altering the configuration, it is a pain for everyone else. The default userid and password are numeric, whilst the keypad defaults to letters, and for some reason it requires a login each and every time you access the "controlled" menu branches - even if you move up and down through the menu one level too far it requires a new login. This means that making changes or even just checking settings becomes a far more annoying process than it should be, and Kyocera support state there is no way to disable the requirement for login..... I'd hazard a guess that most of these machines end up with the username and password written next to the keypad, which rather defeats the purpose of security in the first place!!
A good printer, made less good by compulsory and unnecessary security "features".
